Brazil has been trying to stop illegal logging in the world’s greatest forest – the Amazon Rainforest – but the area of deforestation still grows each year.
Between July 2014 and August 2015 the area of deforestation grew to a staggering 2,251 square miles (5,830 square kilometers)
It is believed that the expansion of cattle ranching and agriculture is to blame for the massive clearance of the forest.

If these illegal actions continue in the future, it could mean a disaster for the rainforest and subsequently for the global climate.
Many tree and animal species will go extinct and even more worrying is the fact that the forest will no longer be able to trap huge amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This means deforestation is a source of greenhouse gas emissions.
This outstanding natural sanctuary might be completely ruined unless radical actions are taken!
It is disappointing to see that we are responsible for killing almost half the trees on Earth and that even in this modern age we do not take care of the thing that keeps us alive – Mother Nature.
