A company named RPR which stands for RockPaperRobot designed this innovative wooden Rubik’s Cube-like coffee table named the Float Table.

Composed of cubic wooden blocks that are held in equilibrium by a system of tensile steel cables, the Float Table is definitely not what most of us would call a “regular” table. At a glance, the cubes seem to simply float and defy principles of physics.

The Float Table is a matrix of magnetised wooden cubes that levitate with respect to one another. The secret lies in the subtle steel cables that keep each piece close, otherwise they would fly away one from another due to magnetism.

Each table is handcrafted and precisely tuned to seem stable, however, a slight touch reveals the secret to Float’s dynamic character.
