This Playspace utilises inexpensive, readily available materials to activate a small space adjacent to a shopping centre café, and provide an interactive space for children.
Too small for typical play equipment, the 16m2 space required an innovative approach. Framed by scalloped plywood, the replaceable cardboard walls offer kids a place to draw, while the plywood table integrates pencil storage. A small custom seating console, radiata pine stools, vinyl tile flooring, and a fluoro paint-dipped cardboard tube light fixture inject colour and personality to the space, and maintain the considered industrial aesthetic of the centre.
