Marlboro Music Festival Cottages
Since 1951, generations of classical musicians have participated in Marlboro Music, a seven-week summer festival where young musicians collaborate alongside master artists on the tiny Marlboro College campus.
For the purpose of accommodation of musicians during the festival five cottages were built by HGA Architects and Engineers.
Set in the foothills of the Green Mountains, cottages are composed with a simple yet durable palette of natural materials, reinforcing an interconnection between music and landscape, exterior and interior.

Steep gabled roofs and simple compact design with the addition of red cedar planks and Vermont slate roof structures combine a touch of the native area with the modern era. Ceilings are adorned with local white pine, allowing an acoustically pleasing area for guests to gather and practice.
