The Literary man, as its name suggests, is a hotel for people who love to read books. The hotel is situated in the 700-year-old medieval city of Óbidos, an hour and a half away from Lisbon, Portugal. The city itself is a haven for book lovers with several book shops and a literary festival. The concern that people of Óbidos showed for preserving the literary heritage was recognised by UNESCO, who named the city a UNESCO creative city back in 2015.

Readers can snuggle up by the fireplace and enjoy classic vintage titles, rare books, and bestsellers while sipping gin from the hotel’s gin bar.

The doors are lined with books and even the hotel restaurant is inside a library lounge.
