At Garde Hvalsøe, they often help clients design and construct unique, bespoke kitchens and beautiful bathroom furniture in the same materials and overall style. They work primarily with high quality solid wood, both regular and exclusive wood-types such as maple, elm, ash and American walnut.
This unique Dinesen-carpenter kitchen is a great example. The project is located in a protected old property at Christianshavn in Copenhagen. The customer, the world renowned chef René Redzepi, wanted a long kitchen cabinet along the window, and a kitchen island with room for preparation and storage.
Long floorboards in the drawer fronts give a unique look
The kitchen cabinet along the window is in one piece, a total of 5.6 meters and drawers of 70 cm in width. Dinesen’s long floorboards in the drawer fronts give a unique look from start to finish, as they have been created out of one plank, so you get a continuous flow of grain patterns. Also clearly visible on the kitchen island where the graining goes from the cabinet side to the cabinet top (and tabletop).
The browned brass sink complements Dinesen HeartOak really well, giving an exclusive look. Whether it is a modern apartment with high ceilings, or an old protected property with exposed beams in the ceiling, the HeartOak, grandoak or Douglas planks can easily be incorporated in the design.
