Transferring old stone building into modern housing has become popular recently in Europe and East Asia. Stone structure often lasts for centuries. A renovation can bring those histories and memories back to life. The intention and design style is brilliant.
They repolished the wooden structures that were composed of aged stone
It reminds me of a project tries to bring young generations back to the old town area when has all these old stone structures called “siheyuan” in northern Chinese cities, especially Beijing. They repolished the wooden structures that were composed of aged stone and combine them with new glass. We will be continuously seeing this kind of projects more often and I really appreciate those effort and ways of thinking. [Project description by mu]
